Catskill Trout report 5/5

Headed up to the Catskill area and fished parts of the Delaware, East branch and Beaver Kill. I arrived up in Callicon at noon on Wed. and met fellow fly fisherman Ken Maher for lunch. He was nice enough to ask me to come up and fish with him as he had accommodations for four days in the area. He had been fishing since 5:00am on the Big D and was ready for a bite and a break. After a trip to Roscoe for a couple of slices and at Raimondo's we stopped by the Orvis fly shop to BS and pick up a few things.

Fished the afternoon and evening and wound up with one 17 inch brown and another one about that size that didn't quite make it to the net.
The fish were feeding on caddis emergers and at times they looked like bone fish tailing as there were pods of them feeding.
The next morning we fished for about an hour and I caught one nice 16 inch rainbow on a cone head woolly bugger size 6. After that we had a nice breakfast at the Lodge Ken was staying at. Pancakes, fresh eggs, sausage, hot coffee and orange juice. At 9:00 I headed home to NJ more than happy.
